Alfred awoke once again to his alarm. His head screeched from the noise. “Great now I’m going to have a headache all day….” He said out loud to himself as he turned off the alarm. He then pulled himself out of bed. He then noticed he had his pajamas on, how long had he been wearing them? Crap, Kat had seen him in his cowboy pajamas… He then got dressed in his regular clothes and snuck out the door. He realized he hadn’t packed a lunch or had breakfast, but he didn’t care. All he wanted to do was see Arthur again. He wasn’t sure what he was going to tell him or what he was going to do but he knew he wanted to see him.
He made his way to the bus stop where Arthur was already waiting.
“Arthur!” Alfred’s yell made his headache worse but he didn’t care. Arthur turned around and saw Alfred and a small smile spread across his face. After all Alfred had been through in the past 24 hours Arthur was truly a sight for sore eyes. “Hello Alfred” Arthur said softly as Alfred came over to stand next to him. Alfred felt a slight blush to spread across his face. “Dude are you alright I heard you got a concussion!” Alfred said urgently. “It’s alright I’ve gotten much worse playing Rugby.” Arthur replied also slightly blushing. “What’s rugby…?” asked Alfred. He felt so stupid asking… Arthur just laughed, “I’m not surprised you don’t know about it” Alfred laughed too and they continued to talk. Alfred knew he wanted to tell Arthur about being gay… but he just couldn’t bring himself to.
Soon the bus arrived and they both got on. Luckily for them Sam and Jake were nowhere to be seen. The sat down next to each other and continued to talk. They somehow got into talking about Busby’s chair. “So dude you’re telling my this chair has actually killed people?!” Alfred said excitedly. He was really into all that paranormal stuff. “ Yes it’s quite scary.” Replied Arthur “ I wish I could use it on Sam”
Laughed Alfred. Either of them had noticed Kat who was now sitting behind them studying Arthurs hair. She had no clue why she was doing it… it was just so blonde...
“Kat what are you staring at…?” Asked Alfred “OH CRAP” Kat had spaced out completely lost in Arthurs golden locks of hair Arthur and Alfred laughed, as Kat’s face grew slightly red from embarrassment. “What are you laughing at?” Kat said starting to laugh herself. They all laughed for a while until the bus arrived at school.
They all stepped off the bus and headed to their first class, Sadly Arthur had a different class than Alfred and Arthur so they said their quick goodbyes and headed to class. There Alfred and Kat found seats apart from everyone else. Luckily it was poetry class so they had lots of time to chat as long as they finished reading their chapters. They both went to the back table and grabbed their textbooks, and soon began to read. Kat for one was lost in the excitement of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” Alfred on the other hand was trying not to fall asleep. Never the less they both finished and began to talk. “So did you tell Arthur yet?” Asked Kat quietly as not to raise suspicion. “No…” replied Alfred. Kat sighed “The sooner you tell him the sooner you two might be able to get together you know.” Alfred froze. “we can never be together” he said firmly. Kat was shocked “What!?” “ I said we couldn’t be together! Even if he liked me back we couldn’t be together...” “Why the hell not! Dude you two were meant for each other!” “But what about Sam and Jake? What about the rest of the goddamn school!” Kat was starting to get upset. No matter what those tow needed to be together. “I’m a lesbo and I’m dating a girl! No one cares!” Alfred stopped “what about my parents… I heard them last night talking about me getting a girlfriend…” he looked down. “Alfred, you’ll need to tell your parents, but if they really love you it wont matter if your gay or straight. You’re their son and you have the right to have a relationship with who you want”
Alfred turned to look at Kat. She was so strong. No matter what people said about her or what happened, she never backed down. She hadn’t even seen her cry before… “Your right” Alfred said his hopes slowly rising. Kat cracked a smile “that’s the Alfred I know” Alfred smiled a bit back “so how am I going to tell Arthur?” Alfred said Kat opened her mouth to reply but was cut off by the bell “Just wing it dude” Kat ran off to her next class leaving Alfred with no clue as to what he was going to say to Arthur. But there was something about Kats words that had given him confidence.
Arthur spotted Alfred in the hall and immediately walked up to him “Alfred!” Arthur said and Alfred turned around “o-oh hey Arthur” by then the hall was almost empty but neither of them cared If they were late. “Alfred I needed to talk to you…” Arthur said quietly thinking through what he was about to say. Alfred was a bit scared as to what was coming next. “I do too” Alfred said his heart pounding out of his chest. They both stood there in awkward silence, neither one of them knowing what to say.
“Alfred… Are you gay?” Asked Arthur practically choking on his words. Alfred’s face flushed bright red “yeah” their eyes met, both of them scared out of their minds. “Are you?” asked Arthur hopefully. Arthur laughed a little “Isn’t it obvious?”
